Nick,
Your graph shows 300MB of cached memory. The system will release
this if it needs
to. If you want to force the system to drop the cache so it LOOKS
like you have the
memory free you can just use the command from a shell that Laura
sent to you earlier.
sync; sync; echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches
Cached memory is used to help with performance, and the system will
release it if a
program makes a request for more than the "available" free memory.
