Thanks, after following your instructions the hyper-v 2012 NIC showed up
and I was able to use the synthetic drivers in ZenLoadBalancer 3.0.3. This
was very helpful, it is impossible to find this information in a Google
search. I was wary of upgrading the packages in Debian, fearing it might
break something, but it turned out to be very simple.

I left the legacy NIC enabled to make it easier to do the setup, so I did
not need to make any changes in /etc/network/interfaces.

I did not need to install the debian-archive-keyring to get the updated
kernel. I just accepted the warning about installing unverified packages.
