I don't think I've got this configured correctly. In the command
section, even if I put in a fictitious website I don't get an event
message:

check_http -w 5 -c 10 www.totallyfictitiouswebsite.net

That should be it.  Most error messages will show up in the events
list for that device if there is a problem.  You might also check the
log file for zenagios.
