The rrdtool installation includes Python bindings that Zenoss needs in
order to use rrdtool. These bindings are not compiled and installed by
default.
I have a fair amount of experience with installing rrdtool as part of
the installation process. If you give me some more information about
your Linux distribution (and architecture) I'd be happy to help you.

Hi, new guy here.
I've had a few challenges trying to build from zenoss-1.0.1.tar.gz.
Here's
the latest:
$ ./install.sh --no-prompt
This installer actually builds Zenoss.
For a simpler installation try the VMPlayer Appliance image,
or use RPMs for Redhat based systems.

this is the case. Maybe you need to set LDFLAGS and CPPFLAGS
appropriately
so that compiler and the linker can find libart_lgpl_2 and its header
files. If
you have not installed libart-2.0, you can get it either from its
original

You can find also find an archive copy on

The last tested version of libart-2.0 is 2.3.17.

But here's the thing. I've already got rrdtool installed, and it's
worked
fine for other things:
$ ll -d /usr/local/rrd*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 14 Nov 23 23:07
/usr/local/rrdtool
-> rrdtool-1.2.13
drwxr-xr-x 7 root root 4096 May 17 2006
/usr/local/rrdtool-
1.2.13
So, is there a way I can skip the rrdtool build and leverage my existing
rrdtool install?
