Hi Jim,
I looked around for some RedHat 7.3 VMWare images to install into our
lab so that I could try to reproduce your problem and come up with a
solution for you. Unfortunately I couldn't find any images online.
Is there any chance you could upgrade your OS to Fedora Core 6?
The other alternative you could try is the virtual appliance. It is a
VMWare image that you load into the freely downloadable VMWare Player
(www.vmware.com). A word of warning tho: I'm not sure if their current
version works with RedHat 7.3, so you may be cornered into an upgrade
after all.

Much obliged. :)

I have a fair amount of experience with installing rrdtool as part of
the installation process. If you give me some more information about
your Linux distribution (and architecture) I'd be happy to help you.
