I had some problems with this in the beginning as well... what seemed to happen
was that not all of the LAMP components were installed with the base install of
ubuntu (installing lamp off of the CD...) if you remove and add all of the
necessary components, (Apache, MySQL, Python, etc.) everything works fine... at
least it did for me.

Subject: [zenoss-users] zenoss problem on Ubuntu v6.10

Hello,

I've searched the ML archives and didn't see any problem like this, so
hopefully this is a question worthy of the mailing list. I apologize
if its been asked too many times already.

New Ubuntu install, V6.10. Standard LAMP install and then basically I
install SSH for remote access then I start following the Zenoss
install docs.

Entire install process from setting my static IP all the way to
installing Zenoss goes fine, all my apt-get upgrades are fine, no
issues. Once the installer is done, i go to the URL
http://192.168.1.10:8080/zport/dmd
and I see the following error:

Site error
An error was encountered while publishing this resource. The requested
resource does not exist.
Please click here to return to the Zenoss dashboard

Can anyone point me in the right direction here? I'll gladly post some
.logs or whatever is needed, I just didnt want to clutter up my
initial post, etc.

Thanks in advance.

AndyG
