I'm trying to get a good understanding of availability and what exactly it is a measure of, and how it is measured.
It seems to me, that it is a measure of whether or not the Zenoss server has any ping down events for a device. How does it cope with dependencies though? For example, let's say I have a remote site, connected by a T1 that has no backup line. When that circuit goes down, a remote fileserver is still up, and available to the clients on site, but because Zenoss can't ping it, availability is affected. Not trying to pick apart the program here, just trying to understand what my expectation should be, when using the reporting of availability.
