I am trying to figure out how to create a template that will check the time of the zenoss server against the time of another server and then error, warn and critical based on the diff.
I'm a novice here. I'm having trouble undestanding how you'd create your own template. I can add template, and I know the the oid for the snmp service that reports on time 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.1.2. I entered that. But I have no idea what you'd put in data point (in general) beneath that entry. I See that I can give the datapoint a name and then select counter, gauge, derive, absolute. Don't know which to use when and what rrd min and max are. What sort of command would you type in the box? I'm not looking for a perfect solution to my problem, just an explanation of what the options are, so that I can understand the process/concepts for creating my own templates.
