We are currently using a mix of solarwinds and Hobbit to monitor many of these
devices now. I do basic connectivity monitoring using Hobbit and focus
Solarwinds on the more advanced SNMP type monitoring.(on the servers)

It works fairly well, but we are evaluating where to go from here. We are
about to add another 300 servers and a bunch of clients. (right now it is
about 600 servers and 4500 clients)

The 300 new servers are looking like they will be redhat enterprise.

I will take a look at the Enterprise version. How does it compare to
Solarwinds? (I know this forum may be a tad biased...but hey..I can ask!)

Thanks for all the info so far.

Matt
