I must be going daft, I am sure, but I can't get Zenoss to load devices. More specifically, about two weeks ago I installed the latest Zenoss (then 2.2.3) on a VM on VMWare Server. Worked like a charm. I used the zenoss*bin stack.
Yesterday, I started preparing a production server for the installation of our local monitoring solution, Zenoss. The VM is a Ubuntu Jeos server with VMWare Tools, ssh and mysql. I downloaded the binary installer (http://downloads.sourceforge.net/zenoss/zenoss-stack-2.2.4-linux.bin) and went ahead. A (not so short) while later, the installer reported to be ready, and as promised, the web interface was humming nicely. So I added a device. The discovery process started, I saw the usual collector messages and when it was ready, it reported the device had been loaded. But it is nowhere to be found. Nothing in the device list, no devices to be found, nada, nothing. Of course I assumed I must have done something wrong, started again and nothing improved. I tried again and then gave up, downloaded the virtual appliance and discover the exact same result. A little digging later, I at least discovered that although the binary installer claimed to have added a sql database, there is in fact no database to be found. but on the virtual appliance there is a database events and that does not work either. So, what could I be doing wrong? I can't find anything in the manuals, don't seem to have skipped any preparations. -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://forums.zenoss.com/viewtopic.php?p=26073#26073 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
