Hello thutchis, your way is a useable way for me, because I try a solution with winexec, but it uses username and password and send it in clear-text over network. And additional zenaction log the password in cleartext. It must be a user with admin-rights on remote-host for using winexec. That's not a way.
Therefore I use your solution, but with "...\sndrec32.exe /embedding ..." it plays the sound in backround. :P nc.exe with /d will start the daemon in background, but when close the dos-box, the batch would close too, so nc-daemon will listen for one time and with next event-alarm it then ends. So I have a minimized Dos-Box on the taskbar. :( I hope, zenoss-group will implement a sound alert in next Version.
