Hmmm, I don't think there's a simple way to simulate a ping from the 
router to the switch... You can really only ping from a computer you can 
run apps on (though perhaps the router might offer some sort of Ping 
functionality)...  You might be able to sort of fake it with tracert and 
data munging and such, but I don't think thats reliable at all.
