Hi all, I've been evaluating Zenoss for a little while now and my current focus is to see if I can get it to handle all the unique monitoring cases in my network. I'm constantly being stymied by not being able to find documentation on what I'm working on, so I thought I'd ask and see if I'm just being blind or looking in the wrong place. Currently, I have three major issues: 1) Event transform "API", I know I have access to the evt and device objects, but I'm not able to find any docs on what methods I can call on them, or if there are any other objects available in a transform
2) Transparency into event handling. My main interest in Zenoss is it's event correlation/handling engine, and as I'm playing with it, I'm finding myself needing to see how event correlation happens. I.e. some kind of debug log that would show me all the actions/correlations/transforms that an event goes through, and in which order. If I send an event into zenoss and don't see it on the event console, I'd like to know which rule cleared it, etc. 3) Mapping non-standard devices. I've read the Custom ZenPack wiki page http://www.zenoss.com/community/wiki/user-contributed/CustomZenPackRoughGuide/, but it's far from complete on how exactly to set up Zenoss to model non-standard network devices, or to customize the modeler for individual needs. I'd be very appreciative if anyone could point me at documentation or code on my zenoss box that would shed light on any of these topics. -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://forums.zenoss.com/viewtopic.php?p=36769#36769 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
