The party will discuss the issue with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and submit a memorandum in this regard, she said. Inaugurating the valedictory meeting of the Sree Narayana Guru-Ayyankali Jayanti festival, organised by the State unit of the BSP in Kottayam on Tuesday, Mayawati alleged that both the UDF Government in Kerala and the UPA Government at the Centre had failed to address the problems faced by the downtrodden. Dalits have no economic security. They get trapped in various cases, she said. She opined that communist parties in the State were oppressing and exploiting Dalits. Mayawati felt that Sree Narayana Guru and Ayyankali were the only leaders in the State who fought for the rights of the backward. She said she respected the two leaders for their unique contributions to society.
