JANUARY 11, 2010, 4:41 A.M. ET NDTV, Beximco Group to Launch Channel in Bangladesh By R. JAI KRISHNA NEW DELHI -- Indian media company New Delhi Television Ltd. Monday said its unit has signed a pact with Bangladesh's Beximco Group to launch a 24-hour news and current affairs television channel, Independent Television. NDTV's media consulting unit, NDTV Worldwide, and the Beximco Group--through its media subsidiary Independent Television Ltd.--plans to launch the channel in Bangladesh by early September 2010, the company said in a statement. The alliance will include channel planning and execution. It will also include NDTV assisting the Beximco Group with the operational and business management of the channel, it said. Beximco Group, the largest private sector industrial conglomerate in Bangladesh, also manages The Independent newspaper.
