Really ?  ufsdump doesn't record the SVM layout, it doesn't record
the options you set in /etc/vfstab or /etc/dfs/dfstab. So personally I don't think it does store all the metadata.

I lose that with ZFS as the backup technology does not exist yet to backup
all the metadata also.

Perhaps we need to craft a zfsbackup and zfsrestore command ?

Or fix the existing send/recv to pass the options and be able to be told how to manage tapes in the simple way that ufsdump can.
