I had similar problems on a 1120 card with 2008.05 I upgraded to 2008.11 and the something*.16 sun areca driver/module that I found somewhere - I also updated the Areca firmware to the latest versions from their site. Not sure which fixed my problems. I believe the person in sun who has had a key role in regard to the Areca drivers is James C.
