Looking at the web site for Sun's SSD storage products, it looks like
what's been offered is the so-called "Logzilla":

This is the unit that is used with the "zpool add log devX" command.
Are there any plans to add "Readzilla" offerings to the product line
("zpool add cache devY")?
They already exist, for the 7410 at least.

The 18 GByte SSD is write optimized, ala STEC ZEUS.
The 100 GByte SSD is read optimized, ala STEC MACH8.
Regardless of the answer, in the meantime, are there any products that
are (unofficially?) recommended at this time (that can be purchased
from third parties)? What devices are being used in the Amber Road
products?
Sun tries to have multiple sources and usually the sourced vendor
is listed in the SunSolve full components list. But that does not
seem to be the case, at least for the 7410.
Also, on the currently available SSD, there's a 'Try and Buy' logo:
would it be possible to 'borrow' one of these SSDs for the sixty days
and run benchmarks, and if it doesn't help, remove them from the ZFS
pool where they were tested? I was under the impression that it's
currently not possible to remove Read- and Logzilla devices.
All things are negotiable. Sun is currently in its fiscal Q4, which is
otherwise
known as "the quarter for non-linear thinking."
They can be replaced.
