After much pondering, Tom Matkin favored us with:
I've been a little overwhelmed with the volume of chatter today. I've
tried, at the least, to read everything on this thread but I can't be
sure. So I'll summarize and stand to be corrected if necessary.
You have it perfectly, Tom. I am so thrilled that I will get to meet you and your better half. Incidentally, in October-November of 1987 I drove my 1981 Honda Civic from El Paso on the Mexican border to Prince Rupert. I stayed at a motel there in Cardston and went to the temple that evening before leaving for Calgary, Quesnel, and points north the next day. I was so disappointed that I had to drive through all that gorgeous country in the dark. I didn't get to see a thing.

I thank you from the most heartfelt depths of my heart for the hospitality you have offered me. I can tell that this trip, which might have been a big chore, is going to turn out to be one of the highlights of my personal history. I am really pumped.
