I have been following this approach with the long descriptions for my
package descriptions and believe it it a consistent and meaningful way
of communicating to a developer. It is not enough for me to see a couple
of paragraphs. The doctest text inclusion gives me an immediate answer
to what the package is about and how it works. I like what has been done
very much and would like it to continue this way. Many thanks.

David
