We should get to the point: if some people depend on ZClasses then they should
take over some responsibility in maintaining them in future releases. It can not be

Amen. Actually, instead of maintaining them in the core the current users should immediately look at breaking it out of the core into a separate product, as suggested earlier, and maintain that product. I believe that would make it simpler both from a Zope maintainer perspective as well as from the ZClass maintainers' perspective.
