------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-18-09 00:54 -------
I rebooted. See attachment for /etc/ptal/*.
Lsmod shows these applicable modules:
parport_pc 25768 1 (autoclean)
lp 8384 0 (autoclean)
parport 36520 1 (autoclean) [parport_pc lp]
scanner 12160 0
printer 8864 0

Tried to print. Nothing happens...
[EMAIL PROTECTED] austin]# lpr ips.txt
[EMAIL PROTECTED] austin]# lpq
HPpsc1200 is not ready
Rank Owner Job File(s) Total Size
1st root 4 ips.txt 1024 bytes

Only the proper printer is listed in printerdrake. Printerdrake does not create
extra instances.

modprobe scanner reset=1
modprobe lp reset=1
Still doesn't print.

This is just too screwed up to follow. I don't know what you want me to do, and
when, and how. Grrrr!

description:
I just added a HP PSC 1210 muti-funtion printer to my system. Every time I run
printerdrake, it adds another instance of that model to the list of printers.
So if I run it three times, I get a list of three HP PSC 1210's connected to my
system.
