For testing you can download the new kernel packages from

http://www.linuxprinting.org/till/tmp/

now. You will usually need

kernel-2.4.22.10mdk-1-1mdk.i586.rpm

but the other variants of the kernel are also available.

Install and boot the new kernel. Then check whether the scanner module does not
interfere with your PSC 1210 any more. Please report your results here.

I just added a HP PSC 1210 muti-funtion printer to my system.  Every time I run
printerdrake, it adds another instance of that model to the list of printers. 
So if I run it three times, I get a list of three HP PSC 1210's connected to my
system.
