I often describe the Board meeting as a hybrid, with LOTS of async
preparation before the meeting followed by a fairly short synchronous
meeting. The Board routinely takes about 70 decisions in 90 to 120
minutes every month.

Interestingly, the Swiss Federal Council, another set of seven busy
people, works in much the same way, with quite different tools but
similar principles.
