בתור ישראלי אני כל הזמן מתמודד עם השנאה לישראל שמבוטאת ע"י לוחמי צדק חברתי (SJW) שבוחרים לתמוך בצד הפלסטיני, ולא בוחלים מללכת בדרך ה-BDS. כאשר שני בחורים נחמדים מאירן הצטרפו לפרויקט ה-FriBidi שהתחיל בישראל, שאלתי את עצמי אם הייתי מסכים לעבוד עם אנשי חיזבאללה בפרויקטים שמתבססים על רשייון ה-GPL. לא אכנס כאן לתשובה שלי על השאלה. (שני הבחורים גרים כעת בקנדה, עד כמה שידוע לי, הם אינם מעורבים בפעילויות אנטי-ישראליות כך שהשאלה היתה אקדמית בלבד.) היה גם מקרה של מוביל פרויקט שהתבטא נגד ישראל בתוקף תפקידו כמוביל הפרויקט (Clement Lefebrve, Linux Mint) ואפילו הרחיק לכת כך שההתבטאויות שלו היו נחשבות לדרישה מלהט"בים לצאת מהפרויקט שלו אם היו מכוונות כלפי להט"בים ולא כלפי ישראל. ובהקשר זה, אזכיר גם את Brenden Eich. הוא היה אחד מהאבות של פרויקט ה-Mozilla. הוא הועף מהפרויקט על רקע התנגדותו לנישואין בין בני אותו מין בקליפורניה, התנגדות שהיתה עלולה לפגוע אישית בחלק מעובדי חברת Mozilla שהוא היה המנכ"ל שלה. מכיוון שהוא גם תרם תרומה טכנית גדולה ל-JavaScript ול-Mozilla, הסיפור שלו טוב כמקרה מבחן לקביעת מדיניות שעלולה להרחיק מפתחים טובים מפרויקט בגלל סיבות שאינן ארכיטקטורה/קוד גרועים. *** אבל צריך לשים לב לנקודה אחת *** ההצעה שלי, שעליה co...@sdf.org מגיבה, אינה לשנות את צורת ההתמודדות עם אנשים כמו לפבר או איץ'. שני האנשים הללו ביצעו מהלכים פומביים, והיה ברור במה מאשימים אותם. ההצעה שלי גם אינה מתייחסת לנושא הקללות. הבעיה שאני רוצה לפתור בהצעה הנוכחית היא למנוע מקרים כמו Rod Vagg, Node.js Larry Garfield, Drupal שבהם מעיפים מפתח מפרויקט בגלל האשמות שמאשימים מאחורי גבו, בלי שתינתן לו הזכות להתעמת עם ההאשמות ולתת לו הזדמנות להפריך אותן בפומבי. קללות ברשימות דיוור, שהיוו הטריגר להכנסת קוד התנהגות לפרויקט הלינוקס, הן פומביות ולכן אין איתן בעיה של התמודדות עם האשמות אנונימיות מאחורי הגב. אבל קוד ההתנהגות שהוכנס אינו מגן על אנשים מפני האשמות אנונימיות מאחורי הגב. *** ובלי קשר ישיר להנ"ל *** צריך לקבוע מדיניות ברורה מתי חייו הפרטיים של מפתח/מנהל (כמו פעילותו הפוליטית של איץ' נגד נישואין של בני אותו המין) אמורים לעניין את המשתתפים האחרים בפרויקט ומתי לא. נראה לי שבדרך כלל מקרה המבחן המתאים (לדיונים בשאלה זו) זה איך מתמודדים עם דעות אנטי-ישראליות של אחד מהמשתתפים בפרויקט כלפי משתתפים אחרים בפרויקט שהינם ישראלים. --- עומר זק On Wed, 2018-09-19 at 12:40 +0000, co...@sdf.org wrote: > Hmm... where to start. > > At least BSD side, a lot of people *are* LGBT.
