2011-09-14 Thread Xavier Oswald
Hi Miguel,

Great !
Feel free to add yourself as co-maintainer and merge your work with the
master branch.

Send me a mail when your are co-maintainer and you think the package is
ready and Ill have a look.
Im travelling till sunday with low internet connectivity so if its fine for

I believe I fixed the issue with .class and non-free material getting
 included in
the source tarball. However, I also found a new upstream release, so I
 tried to
package it but I noticed a new build dependency not available in Debian:
 Guice Framework.

I prepared a package for guice and it was accepted in the archive today
so I think the new upstream release of openid4java is ready to go and be
 included in the archive.

I did many changes and because of that I created a branch named miguel.
Feel free to merge it or to cherry-pick the commits that you consider
 necessary.

I didn't add myself as co-maintainer but I obviously have some interest on
this package. If you are OK with that I can join as co-maintainer.

Let me know what do you think.
If you don't have time to review the package, I can send an RFS to
 debian-java.

 Cheers,

 Hi Xavier,

Hi Miguel,

Sorry for replying late, I was in vacation.

I'm wondering about what happened to openid4java package since
I remember seeing it at NEW queue on January 2011 but I couldn't
find any FTPmaster reject or something.

It was rejected dur to some .class files included in the package.

I'm preparing a package with an optional Build-Depends on openid4java,
so I have interest to know about the current status of this package.

You can find the current package in the java team git.

I don't know if you want to help packaging openid4java.
Maybe you could join the java team and update it directly in the git.
Or you can just clone it and give me the patch I can apply.

Thx for you interest.

I have some plan to improve openid4java packaging during this next month.

Bug#607877: ITP: openid4java -- This library allows you to OpenID-enable your Java webapp

2010-12-23 Thread Xavier Oswald
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Xavier Oswald xosw...@debian.org

* Package name: openid4java
  Version : 0.9.5.593
Upstream Author : Sxip Identity Corporation
* URL : http://code.google.com/p/openid4java/
* License : Apache-2
  Programming Lang: Java
Description : This library allows you to OpenID-enable your Java webapp

OpenID starts with the concept that anyone can identify themselves on the
Internet the same way websites do - with a URI. Since URIs are at the very core
of Web architecture, they provide a solid foundation for user-centric identity.
The first piece of the OpenID framework is authentication -- how you prove
ownership of a URI. Today, websites require usernames and passwords to login,
which means that many people use the same password everywhere. With OpenID
Authentication, your username is your URI, and your password (or other
credentials) stays safely stored on your OpenID Provider (which you can run
yourself, or use a third-party identity provider).

Bug#603375: doxygen: segfaults when building libxr documentation

2010-11-27 Thread Xavier Oswald
Hi,

I can reproduce it too on my debian sid.

As you have see the problem appers when parsing the include/ directory.

The strange point is that if I remove all .h files from this directory and only
let one of them in, doxygen works. So if upstream can have a look it could be a
starting point.

I think it's around a memory leak in doxygen.

Bug#604053: nsca: starts as daemon although disabled in debconf

2010-11-27 Thread Xavier Oswald
Hi,

I can reproduce it too.

Installing nsca and answering 'no' to the debcanf question which asks if
you want to run the nsca daemon still results in a running daemon with a
 pretty unusual PID:

 4294967295 12373 1 0 21:08 ?00:00:00 /usr/sbin/nsca --daemon -c
 /etc/nsca.cfg

I'm filing this as serious as I consider daemons which run and listen on
tcp ports without being configured to do so as a security issue.
Especially when they run with a UID which might b in use otherwise.
I'd guess it tries to use -1 as UID as that was the UID of nobody some
 ancient times ago.

True. Let me know if I can help in any way.

Bug#601381: installation-reports: lenovo x201 laptop with d-i 20101025-09:05

2010-11-04 Thread Xavier Oswald
Hi,

I just got this new laptop today.
I installed it with d-i daily build 20101104.

Installation went fine except for these issues:

 * No wireless WPA2 support. I understand this won't be supported until
 squeeze+1

I didn't try to install with wireless. During network selection both ethernet
and
wireless devices were detected.

 * DHCP configuration did not work, I had to supply IP address manually

DHCP just worked fine for me.

 * My Windows 7 partitions were not available in the grub boot menu, even
though it recognized that win7 was installed. Running 'update-grub' manually
 resolved this.

I removed all windows related stuff. So I cannot comment.

Everything went fine.

If the pending tag is set, this mean that it was ok from the FD side.

Your key is now pending at the keyring managers side. So it will be closed when

Bug#514765: debian-maintainers: Please provide reportbug templates so that this DM applications bug reports are templated

I'd love that. Now that jetring is not needed, a template would still be
very useful to have machine-parsable reports.

Do you have details/pointers on how to write such a template?

I also had in mind to create a little web interface to submit requests,
since I already have code for automatic signature verification on
advocacy mails given their URL. Maybe the web interface is still better
as it can provide immediate feedback.

I'd like to evaluate all options, though.

+1

I think having both, web interface and reportbug templates could be nice.

But I think if we move the things, we should take care of doing this in a
generic
way. Im thinking here of NM and DM, we could process NM and DM application via
reportbug and take care of extending this if we set in the future other
status like Doc writer, graphists or such. As it is done for WNPP with some
options...

It hasn't been migrated yet upstream, see

However since GDA support in Planner is optional, we can remove its support,
remove gda3, and if gda4 support is added back in time for Squeeze, re-enable
 it. Can we do that?

Agreed.

Ok I will do that.

Bug#299944: gftp-gtk shows remote users and groups as numeric in SSH2 mode

2009-11-08 Thread Xavier Oswald
Hi,

gftk includes in remote file information only numerical user and group
display using FTP and SSH2 protocols. Version 2.0.17 could display
 user and group names.

I don't think that's a good idea since when browsing a directory a user could
want to not show that it's him who put the file.

And even if you print all user name who have a file in that dir, you could know
informations about who worked on what etc.. For my point of view, I consider it
as a small security/confidentiality problem when having such a feature.

What do you think ?

 Gratulations...

Thanks :)

Currently I have no unstable System available, only my Lenny which is my
Office-Station and production system and I don not like to kick me of
because I am in creation of my new enterprise http://www.tdwave.net/
and have to work arround 16 hours a day.

Is it secure to install the unstable version on Lenny?

Well, Im using this version since about two months without a segfault or any
kind
of other bug. Thus for my point of view, it looks safe.

Bug#522088: ITP: libtest-leaktrace-perl -- Several functions that trace memory leaks

* URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/Test-LeakTrace/
* License : GPL, Artistic

Description : Several functions that trace memory leaks

Test::LeakTrace provides several functions that trace memory leaks.
 .
This module scans arenas, the memory allocation system, so it can detect any
 leaked SVs in given blocks
 .
Leaked SVs are SVs which are not released after the end of the scope they have
been created. These SVs include global variables and internal caches. For
example, if you call a method in a tracing block, perl might prepare a cache
for the method. Thus, to trace true leaks, no_leaks_ok() and leaks_cmp_ok()
executes a block more than once.

Bug#518430: ITP: libarray-unique-perl Tie-able array that allows only unique values

Description : Array::Unique - Tie-able array that allows only unique
values

This package lets you create an array which will allow only one occurrence of
any value. In other words no matter how many times you put in 42 it will keep
only the first occurrence and the rest will be dropped.

You use the module via tie and once you tied your array to this module it
will behave correctly. Uniqueness is checked with the 'eq' operator so among
other things it is case sensitive. As a side effect the module does not allow
undef as a value in the array.

Bug#518432: qa.debian.org: Strange behaviour after filling an ITP

Hi,

I just filled an ITP against libarray-unique-perl.

It appears on my developer page:
http://qa.debian.org/developer.php?login=x.oswald%40free.fr

But in the WNPP section it appears to be a bug since each word of the
description is splitted in a new package.

Maybe it is temporary, but I wanted to mention it.

http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/parted-devel/2009-January/002525.html

As stated in the changelog this release addresses several bugs from
 Debian's BTS: #445304 #463720 #504747 #511035

Yes, that's great !

As #504747 seems to be the reason why gnu-fdisk was removed from
 testing (http://packages.qa.debian.org/g/gnu-fdisk/news/20090112T163917Z.html)
I'd highly appreciate feedback from the maintainer(s) about their
point of view since it's one of the few/the only tool(s) which is
able to sanely edit gpt disklabels. *If* there's any chance to
re-add and get the release into lenny it should be taken IMHO.

I will have a look this weekend/monday and package the new release.

And if it is well-done and if #504747 is really closed, I will consider to
re-add it
for the Lenny release.

Hi,

Can you try this version ?

I think your bug report is not that relevant since if you are editing the node

I tried wmaker and figure out what you mean. But I think it's not linked to

It seems to me that sensible-browser is a debian specific solution and does
the same that xdg-open does, except that xdg-open can be used to open
arbitrary files and urls. Therefore I guess you need to wait until there is a

Bug#453246: mirage: display EXIF tags in the photo infos ?

 Hi,

I just discover mirage. and it's a really nice application! It has all
what I want except the EXIF tags. I don't have seen a feature request
about that, also I post it :
I could be really cool, if the libexif is installed, that mirage
display EXIF tags in the photo properties.

Hi,

I cc this mail to the upstream author so he will be aware of this.

Thanks,

Bug#449115: Vym .desktop file is ok and vym icon is not installed in the default icon directory

2007-11-04 Thread Xavier Oswald
Hi,

Im working on a new version correcting this bug.

What do you mean by not the default icon directory ?
AFAICS, the desktop file is in the right place : /usr/share/applications/

But you are right when saying that vym shortcut is in Accesories and Education
menu.

So what do you suggest ?
Using the Accesories or the Education menu ?

I will upload a new version soon after your reply...

Hi,

I also second this request, since there are a lot of mail on the debian-edu list
and some users want only to have announcement.

So it would be very useful to have such a list.

Bug#434920: lisaac-mode: please prefer emacs22

2007-07-30 Thread Xavier Oswald
 Package: lisaac-mode
 Version: 0.84-3
 Severity: wishlist

There is now emacs22 in lenny/sid. It would be nice if you would
prefer emacs22 as the first emacsen alternative in your package.

Currently, emacs21 still exists, so the severity of this bug is
`wishlist'. If emacs21 is removed, the severity will be bumped up.

Ok, thanks for these informations.

I hope, we will release soon a new version of lisaac so, I will take care of
your bugreport and close it with this new release.

Bug#434772: add suggests / recomments to krb5-config

2007-07-30 Thread Xavier Oswald
Hi,

im using libauthen-simple-kerberos-perl in order to authenticate my Subversion
repositories users against our Windows Domain Controller (Apache Webdav, Perl
Handler). A simple checkout resulted in about ~600 connections (most of them
ending up in TIME_WAIT after short time) to our Primary Domain Controller.
Authentifaction did work but was slow as hell :)

A bit of fiddling resulted in noticing /etc/krb5.conf was missing. After
creating this file with the right settings, all went a bit smoother and the
module didnt open hundrets of connections (i dont know why it does so if this
 config file is missing ..).

I think recommending / suggesting krb5-config would be helpful (maybe also
adding a short note to README.Debian or something..).

Ok, thanks for these informations.

I put a README.Debian file and Suggests: krb5-config to the control file in our
svn repo. I hope it will be uploaded soon into debian.

Greetings,

Bug#412391: magicor: If underneath blocks, victory animation partly obscured by blocks.

2007-04-03 Thread Xavier Oswald
On 12:39 Sun 25 Feb , Josh Triplett wrote:
If you solve the puzzle while underneath blocks, the victory animation of Tux

occur in front of the blocks; ideally, a different, more compact animation

You can easily reproduce this on Egypt 4; extinguish the top fire first, then
go down beneath the two-wide ice column and push the single ice block into the
lower fire. You remain below the two-wide column, and the column obscures
 part of the animation.
 /spoiler

I got this answer from upstream:

Yeah, how about this, when you clear the level all ice is destroyed in a
magnificent cascade of broken ice? It might be CPU-intense, but it could
look cool and the blocks wouldn't obscure the player.

It will be solved in the next version ;)

Bug#412486: magicor: If blocks fall to right above Tux, artifact of his head remains in the blocks

2007-04-03 Thread Xavier Oswald
On 03:34 Mon 26 Feb , Josh Triplett wrote:
If a block falls almost all the way onto Tux, but stops at the square right
above him, an artifact of Tux's head appears in the block, and remains there.

spoilerYou can reproduce this on Forest 14. Hold left to get past the
spikes, then go to the first single block and push it, then do the same to the
second single bock. Move left to the next single block and push it. You now
hold up two long ice blocks. Walk to the right; when you get out from under
one of the ice blocks, both will fall, and the top one will stop one block
above you (landing on the lower of the two ice blocks). You will now see an
artifiact of Tux's head in the upper ice block, and that artifact remains in
place even if you step away.

Just like with the victory animation this needs to be addressed.

Thanks.

I'm not sure, hopefully the original packager or someone else from
the Debian Perl Group will shed some light on the issue.

I began to work on kerberos, the problem is that Authen::Simple::Kerberos is
depending on Authen::Kerberos which is not in the archive and an other one if I
remember.

Authen::Simple::Kerberos and Authen::Simple::SMB will come soon ;)
They are in my TODO list !
