MSN help please
I installed Pidgin today and it rocks! Much more simple than trillion. I have one issue however. My yahoo, aol, google talk all work great. I can use MSN with some people but I have one friend who is running Windows Live Messanger 14 and I see his name and time stamp appear but I cant see dialog. Oddly enough if I right click and SELECT ALL when the conversation window turns blue I can see the text/dialog...Any help? ICQ Jabber
I upgraded from Pidgin 2.6.1 because our ICQ and Yahoo accounts were not functioning. The upgrade solved the Yahoo issue, but ICQ is still not functioning and now Jabber is not working either. I have tried disabling the account and then enabling to no avail. Jabber shows up in the Accounts drop-down menu. ICQ does not. One thing you can try is, in the GTalk account's settings, check both Require SSL/TLS and Force old (port 5223) SSL, set the Connect server to talk.google.com, and connect port to 443. I agree there. I still have to go through and reconfigure a few of my settings in Thunderbird in regards to HTML email. I don't run into many recipients who can't see them, but in a mailing list type situation, it makes sense. I actually have list emails filtered in my account I use for my phone. There have been many contributors to libpurple over the past 10 years, and it is not feasible to track them all down and request their permission in using a different license. I don't mind if this isn't possible to do with the current program, but if somebody could just let me know if it is or not that would be fantastic. I've wasted a lot of time trying to figure this out, not understanding why the same code doesn't work for both widgets. I've been driving myself nuts.
