But my point is that it's not illegal to distribute those source files
per se, it's just not permitted to use the software for Evil.
And since we will not be using those source files, it seems to be ok
to distribute them as part of upstream tarball. But IANAL...

Sorry, fixed now. Try cloning using git://git.luns.net.uk/configutils.git

After upgrading from 0.5.14-4 I've got hal failing to start with core

I've been hit by the same bug (cups 1.6 with lots of printers that leads
to a avahi-daemon at 100% CPU and a IPv6 flood of mdns packets).
Recompiling the package with the cited patch fixe my problem.
Note for others: the fix

Right. The non-free part of the archive is for such software. Debian
main consists only of free software

The attached patch adds a command-line flag to flip to using upper-case.

OK, it's very much annoying (since the tarball is huge and the updated
module won't hit PHP 5.5), but I will comply.

There have been changes to nnir.el upstream again, which prevent
current gnus from emacs-snapshot starting properly with the old
one still bundled in gnus-bonus-el.
See e.g.: http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.emacs.gnus.user/16248
Please update that file

Since python-mpdclient has no upstream and no maintainer there is no
justification to keeping it any longer. As such it will be removed at
some point and lastmp and pygmy will be have unsatisfiable dependencies.
