The problem probably lies in how you have configured Pidgin to
work with their service, so it probably lies between the two.
It is unlikely that anyone here knows what Smarthinking's servers
require, so the options are to obtain the debugging logs and try
and work out what what sort of server they are using, or for you
to obtain a technical specification of how to connect to their
server, so that someone here can translate it into Pidgin
configuration terms.
