Subject: (313) Styli (was: badly cut records)

Speaking of, I'm starting to have some problems with one of my decks (1200)
and the stylus.
I've got the Ortofon Concordes and I'm beginning to get a bad connection.
I've been told that these usually end up going out like this because the
pegs don't line up correctly with the connection on the 1200 tone-arm. It
works again after doing the "remove and dab with saliva" trick.
I'm considering switching to the headshell variety styli because I think
this will solve the problem. Most abuse I give any record/needle is
backcueing. Any suggestions for brands/models?

Nope, but I'm in the same boat, and probably getting Serato soon, so looking for any similar such advice that might also take that variant in to account (if it should matter at all, and I imagine it doesn't).
