It's all on the web, but elliptical 'fits' the groove and thus plays more of the 'track', rather than the diamond wedged in between two points. I think there's one diamond cut that only plays one way, and to back cue with it is rather like stroking a cat the wrong way, with the addition of vinyl shavings...this could be the stanton 500.
But not to worry, the biggest cause of wear is worn out needles and badly setup tt. Not many dj's change needles after 1000 hrs. but then most of the people on here burn to mp3 immediately and then vacuum pack the record... Shure M44G for sound, wear and price, the m447 tracks a bit too heavy. > Cheers for this.
