there was another, much better series, in my opinion, that came out about
3-4 years ago sponsered by the rock and roll hall of fame, and experience
music project, that had an episode dedicated to "the perfect beat"...it
included hip-hop, techno, house, electro, kraftwerk etc...and interviews
with, derrick may, frankie knuckles, run-dmc, beastie boys, de la soul, new
order, africa bambaata etc...very informative in the general sense,
definately not as centered on the modern electronic music scene as
modulations is.
does anyone know if iarra lee is doing anothe documentary soon...?

One that comes to mind is that BBC-one, the final episode in that
"Rock'N'Roll" TV-series documentary (don't remember the name), where May
"Dancing in the Street" was the name of that one. The "chapter" focusing
James Brown/funk/pfunk was also really good for an Aussie white(ish)boy
like
me who knew not an awful lot about the history of the music.
out.
dave.
