i have a subscription to URB that just expired and i am about to renew. the
magazine doesn not seem to focus on white folk at all. infact my last issue
had stories on both Jeff Mills and Green Velvet. it told of how Mills was
refered to as god in many circles and how tapes of his old radio show are
heavily traded amongst fans. It also told how Mr Velvet got started. it
provided a very good background of both of these 2 before it even got to the
new stuff on them. they have plenty of hip hop artists in the mix too. the
only thing that they cover in depth that is white is trance and the rave
culture. i don't think you dig through the magazine enough to find the gems
that lay beneath the cover. Juan Atkins has had his picture in 2 issues
this year. maybe 3, i didn't get the next 100 issue. my advice is to look
deeper.
