I think Holly is making some interesting points but based on my own personal experiences I can't get my head around this notion that women aren't into abstract ideas. But the fact that I think you work in computers Holly means you must have the kind of mind usually accredited to males - focussed and able to understand technology, etc. Women's academic performance in Australia is by far ahead of males and they stay at school longer, so the authorities are really concerned - it would seem that female students here have the focus and analytical abilities and there could be cultural reasons for this.
