I would disagree.
Its my feeling that underground just happens to exist as part of how the
music was developed.
To create music just to be underground seems kind of reactionary, doing the
opposite of what 
you think the mainstream wants.
Ignore mainstream, and if something you do happens to get picked up great!
Its when music is MADE for the masses that it loses quality, the only way to
please everyone
is to not say anything, and thats what music made for mainstream tries to
do.

There is a lot of good hip-hop out there, not sure if you make a distinction
between that
and rap, some do, some don't.
BUT
it still exists, and its still changing.
You can't look at the mainstream portion of a genre and think its a direct
reflection of the entire
thing.

i hope so, i honestly do.
I want to see everyone so sick of the music thats out there now that
they actually start making something better.
