I assume Alex is referring to the craptastic talent that started to be booked at Motor after Gina G (was that her name?) left (maybe for the venue Science?). Kimball Collins became a resident - ugh. Paul Jokenfold was booked. Shortly, before Motor closed I caught Bassment Jaxx there - not a bad show, except for some of the patrons being a Kiss FM type crowd.
I have never been to The Works, but isn't the venue once known as One X off Michigan Ave? Maybe not, I have been gone a while. Either way The Works has had their fair shair of good talent booked there. One X had Beatdown Sundays for a while, if I am remembering correctly and they are the same venue. ----- Original Message ---- From: Denise Dalphond <ddalp...@umail.iu.edu> To: Alex Lugo <alugo...@yahoo.com> Cc: list 313 <313@hyperreal.org> Sent: Wednesday, July 1, 2009 2:29:49 PM Subject: Re: (313) Kenny Larkin/Schlomi Aber "Sketches" Never went to Motor. I know a little about the club and it's history, but could you shed a bit more light on Motor's history and it's last days, Alex?
