hi folks! this is a longshot but i'm REALLY hurtin' for this one.
i saw teddy douglas from the basement boys twice in the last two nights here in sf. what an awesome dj, and a super friendly guy to boot. unfortunately i was unable to get a proper id on a absolutely slammin' record that he played on both nights. here is what i know: the title is something like "i wanna be you." the record has a black sleeve with red lettering, and a black label with red lettering. one side of the sleeve said " ... records." its a big tune, based around a strong male vocal and a stab pattern. the only other description that i can give is that the vocal is sort of a stuttered shout that hits at the same beats as the stab. it also sounds pretty old. -eli
