No...the default position would be to stay seated.

I think this is an excellent point...but not one that is necessarily
opposed to my position.  I don't think the DEMF is about Carl the
individual, but rather about what we call "the underground" broadly
speaking.

Let's say FOR THE PURPOSES OF DISCUSSION that Carl stole money and
sabotaged the event.

Does this mean that the committee that will replace him is going to stand
by what we think of as "our" interests?

At the very least, the tactic I propose can possibly lead to a committee
that isn't filled with Ford hacks.......
