I actually have State Farm renter's insurance, and the price varies with the amount insured and the amount of deductable. I have almost $10,000 locked up in equipment, and tons of records - as well as appliances and furniture (not to mention a certain important Server!) - and my agent insured my apartment from everything (for a total amount of $13000) for something like $150 a year. This covers theft, water damage, fire damage and everything in between. And the deductable is $500.

If State Farm won't cater to your insurance needs, shop elsewhere for home owners/renters insurance. It's cheap and I've never heard of exclusions to policies like this, although many auto policies have a limit or restriction on stolen CDs in cars.
