I think the reason a lot of people dislike laptop live shows is because it is too much of the same style. One artists is mostly doing one typical style, and listening to almost the same thing for more than 1 hour could be not enjoyful for some. I remind listening to a live act (laptop) from "Hermann und Kleine", wich I enjoyed very much, because I like their style. But I also remind hearing (on the radio) a live act from bandulu, wich was loop-techno live.... boring as hell... If you let maurizio or scion do a live act, I would be very happy to hear it.. but I can imagine very easely, that most people , who are not into this kind of dubby techno would leave after less than 10 minutes. A DJ is mostly playing different records and styles, and can maybee more easily catch the vibe from the croud.... But then again, there are enough dj´s who are very boring (I think of tomazz - stu bru, Belgium). They can´t be all like moodymann, now can they?!
