House (post Disco Era) Acid House Garage Ambient/Dub Techno Electro Trance Goa/Psychadelic Trance Happy Hardcore (perhaps we can turn a blind eye to this one?) Breaks (electronic-based I suppose... this one could go way back) Trip Hop Hip Hop / Rap Drum and Bass Jungle Hardcore (Rotterdam, etc) Intelligent Dance Music (IDM) Synthpop Industrial VA IE ----- Original Message ----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Thursday, October 10, 2002 4:04 pm Subject: Re: (313) what was the first techno record ever? > > That's a bit tougher considering the sliding definitions of "all > electronicgenres" > > what is the first trip-hop record? what is the first minimal blip- > houserecord? what is the first locked groove tribal record? kind > of a big task > and sort of like splitting hairs? > > > > > > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > To: > 313@hyperreal.org > > 10/10/02 02:58 PM cc: > > > Subject: Re: (313) > what was the first techno record ever? > > > > > > > > > Actually, it appeals to my 'trivial' nature to know what the first > recordswere for all electronic genres... can anyone fill in the > blanks? > > Vector Audax > Iam Electro > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Maarten Baute <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Date: Thursday, October 10, 2002 3:40 pm > Subject: Re: (313) what was the first techno record ever? > > > > and i mean really techno, named that way and produced on > > detroit. it was > > by > > > juan atkins? or it was a transmat? > > > > > > or it would be a cybotron .. liek "clear" ... > > or "a numer of names - sharivari" > > > > both ´82 > > > > or later the "model 500 - no ufo´s"... ´85 > > > > when did the start to use the term techno anyway? > > > > I think it first appeared on the "techno, new dance sounds of > detroit"> compilation on 10. > > > > Cheers, > > Maarten > > > > > > > > > >
