i've got a trick as well,
on a trip from new york to australia i was assured by the airline that i
could insure my record box at the check-in desk. they were wrong, couldn't
be done. i said, without insurance they don't leave my arms. of course the
records were way overweight for hand luggage. so my girlfriend and i were
bumped to business for a 24 hour flight, because business had more generous
hand luggage allowance. james
