I really enjoyed the evening, although as Rob has said, Saunderson, whilst technically proficient, didn't do it for me at all. Too much clubby-tracky style records played - I can see why people like him, but this wasn't for me at all.
Mills was superb - very dark. One thing I did feel that he's really good at playing these tracks which are a little bit submerged in the mix, with lots of little bits going on - when he's playing music that's a little bit more upfront, I don't enjoy it as much. When listening to him, I feel there's always a little bit of pregnant expectation - you are almost expecting the next track to come in at any time. And he played Basic Channel.....which was nice. oh.. and 909 work.
