i think that YOU are missing the point. catagorisation is not optional - it is an inate, fundamental and essential part of the human make-up. are you honestly suggesting that it would be reasonable to live in a world where you weren't allowed to describe anything? flyers saying that "tonight we are playing music" - great, that could really open my mind up to bon jovi or whatever random music might be playing. or describing to someone what music you like without mentioning any catagories? er..i like..er...well i can't say because i could be promoting closed mindedness! you're right, this thread is absolutely fuc*ing crazy. we're only talking here about describing music in words. what is so difficult?
