What's wrong with "Electric Avenue"?

This snobby purist thing is starting to get to me.  I think you all forget that 
DJs have to sometimes play stuff that ordinary people relate to, their job is 
to rock the crowd, so what if they play something you think is cheesy once in a 
while?  It's not the same as playing a set full of cheesy stuff.  I mean, we're 
talking about "pop-art" here, it's not the same as a performance where people 
are just listening and nodding their heads.

That being said, I don't want to hear Briteny Spears or Justin Timberlake, 
personally.  But you people seem to be taking this too seriously.  I guess it 
just makes everyone sound really whiney to try and discuss the WORST record you 
can think of a DJ playing.  More to the point, it's really subjective, I'd be 
more interested in whether the crowd reacted poorly.  THAT would say something 
more objective or interesting about the subject.
