I'm not an expert but most clubs' turntables seem to be on a fixed level - 
that's why I asked.
He played at Back 2 Basics in Leeds once and the DJ booth at the club it was at 
at the time was accessible only up a stepladder, so he had to be winched up by 
several bouncers, wheelchair and all.

A bigger issue is that a lot of dance venues are not handicapped-accessible.
The most used venue here (in Iowa City) is grandfathered in from before the
Americans With Disabilities act, and more than once I've helped carry someone
upstairs in their chairs.  Paul's a big guy though, and I wouldn't look forward
to doing that with him.
