The Role of Monolake at Ableton
Ableton has been founded by former monolake member and software
developper Gerhard Behles,
developper Bernd Roggendorf, finance expert Jan Bohl and still and
forever monolake Robert Henke.
Henke is part of the conceptual team at Ableton, which is responsible
for all decissions about the behaviour
and feel of the software. This includes everything from the very basic
concepts and functionality down to
details of the user interface and audio processing. Henke is also the
creator of most effect plug ins in
Live. Some personal favorites are the "GrainDelay", "EQ Three", "Chorus"
and "Resonators".

Now there's someone with a different sound - I can well believe that
Robert Henke originates his own software
Was greatly looking forward to the UK dates planned for earlier this
year but apparently they were called off because he's suffered long
term hearing damage - v. sad.

Autechre?
Does anyone know anyone else who does this? The only person I could
think of is Aphex.

BTW, I also got sent an electro record by EMS (on Satamile), it said
in the press release that he builds all his own synthesisers etc from
the transistor up! I was quite impressed by this, but couldn't really
detect any noticeable difference in the music itself.
