Tom, that is ridiculous. Just because you choose to stay where you were born and where you were, doesn't mean other have to do the same. Why do you find everything that isn't your choice wrong? Secondly, being a small promoter in a big city is just as hard. Believe me, tons of my friends are constantly dodging the creditors as they get ripped off for big bucks on venues and have to compete with the big clubs for Detroit djs who then become unaffordable.
