For crying out loud, DJ mixtapes are one of The Five Pillars Of Dance Music.
BPI act on behalf of artists/labels, but you do wonder how many would be
troubled about the copying in this instance. Other than the likes of
Deconstruction, who are BMG in disguise.
Anyone wanna leave BPI and join my newly-formed BLEEEEP Phonographic
Industry? I promise to represent your interests but turn a blind eye to
mixtapes with your stuff on. But don't expect an invite to the next Brit
Awards.
