hmmm ken
i recently saw Mathew Jonson here in rome and he totally blew us away so im thinking it cant get any better than that....just a feeling.

regarding Hawtin & Villalobos, im thinking that the best place ever to see them play is definitely in Berlin, especially at the free Club Der Visionaere after hour club on the river - 'twas a free party and R&R played the most amazing music non stop for over 4 hours after having played most of the night at Watergate. Definitely a party for those who know, a sort of hush hush affair;).

anyway R&R as well as Magda (and Dimbiman, and others) are all playing here in Roma for the Dissonanze festival in May, so that's one of the reasons im not feeling Sonar. Plus i've seen almost all the artists form this years lineup, so i dont feel like employing resources to go to Barca and risk seeing something like Mills playing looped bangers to a horde of pilled-up 20 somethings.

Barcellona is great, but i think the best period is around the 20th of September for the Fiesta della Merce (local patron saint) where its 3 days of revelling for all the city and there are tons of free parties with international guests, all orgnized by the city council.

fab.

ps: if you want to know more about Der Visonaere just ask :)

Highlights to me would be: Areal Records, Alex Attias, Matthew Jonson, and maybe Hawtin. Good ones, but not enough of them to make me want to go to Bercelona at that particular time of the year.

It's the greatest city in the world and there are some great club nights, so you don't need to bother with the event itself (esp. the night one)

ok guys,
seeing that i dont really care much for this year's lineup,
is there any valid reason for me to go?

i have heard (mainly on this list) that there is much more to sonar than the
shows......is this true?
